Henry Aronson was was Music Director and/or conductor for the Broadway productions of Rocktopia, Rock of Ages, Grease, The Times They Are A-Changin’, Rent, Rocky Horror Show, Little Shop of Horrors, In My Life , Cry Baby, Good Vibrations, Parade, Saturday Night Fever, Mail, Prince of Central Park, In My Life, and The Who’s Tommy (original production). He also played and conducted 18 seasons of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

His Off-Broadway credits include King Lear (at the Public Theater, starring Kevin Kline), Superbia (by Jonathan Larson, at Playwrights Horizons), 3 Guys Naked From the Waist Down (Minetta Lane), Olympus On My Mind (The Lambs)  and, shortly before relocating from New York to Texas, Sarah Silverman’s The Bedwetter at the Atlantic Theater Company.

His regional theatre credits include the Old Globe (San Diego), La Jolla Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse, Kennedy Center, Denver Center, Hartford Stage, Long Wharf, and Goodspeed Opera House. 

 

Since relocating to Texas in 2023, he has performed with the Galveston Symphony Orchestra, has been Music Director for several productions at Island ETCJet-Pac and for Act 3 Galveston and has been teaching at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Upcoming in winter 2025, he'll be playing with the Symphony of Seasons (Stardew Valley) at the Smart Financial Center (Sugar Land, TX) and will be Music Director for White Christmas at Theatre Under the Stars, Houston

 

​In collaboration with his wife Cailín Heffernan, he wrote music and lyrics for Loveless Texas, which was presented at the Sheen Center in New York City, and as a concert presentation for Act 3 Galveston.
